During the evolution of software development, a lot of software development experience and knowledge has been recorded in different software repositories such as source code in GitHub, Q&A discussions in Stack Overflow, Android app in Google Play, etc. How to effectively leverage such big data to assist developers and ensure the data quality are interesting, but challenging tasks. In this talk, he will introduce some of his research works about distilling crowd knowledge specifically from mining Stack Overflow, and a series of works to ensure the data quality of software repositories. Recently, the emerging large-language models (e.g., GPT-3, ChatGPT) show their great power in NLP-related tasks. He believes that it will reshape the MSR works in SE domain. Therefore, he will share their latest work at ICSE’23, also the first work to use GPT-3 for software testing. In addition to the academic publications mentioned above, he will share a set of corresponding tools developed by his team for mining software repositories and automated software development.
讲座人简介：
Dr Chun-yang Chen is a tenured senior lecturer (a.k.a., Associate Prof) in the Faculty of IT, Monash University. His main research interest lies in automated software engineering, especially data-driven mobile app development. Besides, he is also interested in Human-Computer Interaction (e.g., collaborative editing, UI design), and software security. He has published 60+ research papers in top venues such as ICSE, FSE and obtained three ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Awards (ICSE’21, ICSE’20, ASE’18), one best paper award (SANER’16) and one best tool demo award (ASE’16). He has established extensive collaboration with industry, including Google, and Facebook (Meta).
